1.7 RRs question?

RE: 1.7 RRs question?
You adjust them by shimming, if the preload it too much and shorter push rods if the preload is not enough..basically not very adjustable. Torque them to about 20ft/lbs

RE: 1.7 RRs question?
Ok thanks you guys, i pulled my upper intake off and the vavle covers(replacing vac. hoses) and i thought the rockers were getting a little noisy, but the appear to be fine- they are shimmed already, i think the preload is OK, but how do you check? and im gonna check the torque on them as well
Thanks

RE: 1.7 RRs question?
Yeah, it will make a difference if it isn't right. I would recheck it if I were you...you have it aprt anyway. Break them all loose, and start over....take the lash out(when the valve is closed) then torque it down. No less than 1/4 turn after lash and no more than 1 full turn after lash to your full torque of 20ft/lbs

RE: 1.7 RRs question?
You really think i should do that? Im just a idiot with that stuff and dont have the know how to do it- i wouldnt worry about doing it if i had interent acess at my house- then i could aak all you guys why i run into trouble- or at least print the paper( but my g/fs printer dont work[:@])
I mean i guess i could do it just start with #1 cyclinder, and work up to 8

RE: 1.7 RRs question?
If you get lost, all you would have to do it tighten them back down...worth a try, just follow those direction I gave you in that link. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't. It isn't hard.
