unbold the fan then unbolt the shrowd and it pulls right out. then take the belt off and the pully will come off and all you have next is to unbolt the water pump

pretty much what i figured, but the a/c has to come off too , right? the pump comes with a gasket is it a bad idea to use
permatex gasket maker for water pump rtv silicone with the gasket, am i better off using just the gasket maker or just the gasket, i have always used both together but wondered. im trying to treat this car better than my past cars and do it right the first time. everything that bolts on seems to be going. so im tryn to get as much out of the way now. replaced the alternator and i replace bat cables, gunna do starter tonight if i have time and starter cable too. next i bet the selenoid will go so im gunna do that soon too

you forgot to mention that he will have to undo the 4 bolts in the a/c bracket (or if its a stock non-a/c car.. the PS bracket)

i just did one at work the other day, the water pump bolts are 14mm i believe, you'll need a deep 16 and 14 for the a/c bracketry, the fan bolts are 11mm and the shroud is 10mm. use a thin bead of black RTV on the gasket, dont slob it on there. also make sure that the mounting surface is clean, don't use sandpaper.
