Is my Alternator going out?

Is my Alternator going out?
It is still charging but I think it is making some sort of noise as the RPM's go up. At idle you can't hear nothing but as you step on the gas it gets louder as the rpm's go up. It's hard to explain the noise. I thought it was the fan clutch cuz it sounds like it is comung from the front of the engine but that didn't fix the problem. I also changed the tensioner pulley& that didn't help. It sounds like it is one of the accessories but not sure which one. You can't really hear it with the fan shroud off but once I put it back on you can. It's like it's bouncing off the shroud or something. Any help would be GREAT!!!

get yourself a long screwdriver or a solid piece of pipe, not hollow. place one end against the accessory that you think is making the noise, and place your ear to the other end. when you find the culprit making the noise, you will hear it plain as day through the screwdriver.

I tried that already & it's hard to tell cuz it doesn't make the sound at idle. I had someone step on the gas while I listen with the screwdriver but it's too lound with all the accessories going. I hear every single noise that is possible. It would be soo much easier if itwasmaking the sound at idle.

you dont need anyone to hit the gas, you can open the throttle with your hand. the cables are underneath the throttle body, push them towards the firewall and you will rev the motor just the same as if someone was tapping the pedal.
