it usually takes about 30 minutes to even hit 160. no matter how cold or warm it may be.
Sounds like you have a bad stat...I think it is stuck open. What kind of gauge?
It is a sunpro guage, I don't think I damaged it whenI installed it, on Friday I am changing it out for a 195 to see if it helps.
Dit you have problems with it getting warm beforeyou put in the new stat? How long ago did you put in the gauge? Where did you put in the intake at? What does the stock gauge say?

I think it took about as long when I got the car a few months ago before the new stat. the guage was in the car whwn I bought it, I am thinking about trying the factory guage back out. There is a copper tube that runs from the original temp sensor location to the new guage. The stock guage says 160, it only heats up over 160 when it idles for too long. the clutch fan is bad I think.

What sized radiator are you running. Yes, the fan clutch could be bad.

Stock radiator, I think, can a bad fan clutch not allow the car to heat up as well as overheat?

If you would like to test it, pull you fan off and try and drive around near your house and see if it warms up more. Will your fan spin by hand?

I am not sure if the fan will spin by hand, I will test every thing out like you recommended. Thanks bro

check the fan when the car is cold and not running... is should spin freely

After the car has warmed up it should be very hard to spin the fan
