Default what can make a car not heat up totally

Just want to get some ideas of what can make my stang not get hot enough. I have a brand new 180 tstat, the car only heats up to 160.

cold weather? It should heat up quickly especially if you are gunnin it.

it usually takes about 30 minutes to even hit 160. no matter how cold or warm it may be.

I think your right, but several people run a 180 stat

Sounds like you have a bad stat...I think it is stuck open. What kind of gauge?

Are you going off the stock gauge? Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open. Damaged when you put it in?

It is a sunpro guage, I don't think I damaged it whenI installed it, on Friday I am changing it out for a 195 to see if it helps.

I have a 180, with a four core radiator and it heats up good. I would think the thermostat is bad(even it is new)take it back and get a different one.
