Default 3g alt swap question

alright, i getting ready to do this swap. i have read half a dozen different write ups on it and for the most part i think it should be easy, but, i have one question. half of the write ups say cut the big plug and use the 2 black and orange wires on the alt and the other write ups say dont use the black and orange wires. so which is it? pros and cons of both? please and thank you

I used the 2 stock wires for a while on my swap and it worked fine, but ................
it is a fire a hazard and should be upgraded sooner rather than later eventually.

make sure you upgrade your grounds as well, just as important

I have been told by professional alternator rebuilders to upgrade to a 4 guage wire which I just purchased. $3.50 and $1.00 for the connectors at the car audio shop.

Your pushing 130 amps through a 80-85 amp's wiring.

Also Id reccomend all who done this swap to verify they actually have a alternator putting out 13O amps,.

at idle you only produce up to 85 amps, max at part/mid throttle on up

Just got my PA Performance 130a alternator yesterday and its great how they send the spec sheet showing it truly makes 160a at 3000rpm and 80a at idle. The power wire kit from them is beautiful as well, I am definitely glad I bought it frtom them since it is loomed and has the fuse in it already, damn worth the $45.
