Maybe a plug wire touching the headers? something rubbing? I don't think it has anything to do with changing exhaust pipes to downs....

Your exhaust pipes aren't close to or touching your tires are they?

no the mufflers arent rubbin the tires ...even if it was the mufflers rubbin i wouldnt be able to smell it going down the highway....the wind would blow it out from under the car too fast....the smell seems to be coming from the front

Take your belt off and turn all of your pullies, especially the tensioner pulley. I'm almost willing to bet that your tensioner pulley is seized or really hard to turn since you said that it is coming from the front of the motor. Howmuch have you been driving it since this smell has been occuring? If it's not that you might just be smelling exhaust fumes, that doesn't really smell like burning rubber, but they are both pretty strong smells.

Just take your belt off and drive around and see it you smell the smell anymore. And make sure to go on the highway. Just kidding but that tensioner's bearing could be seized up. I'll have to come see it.
