hey guys hope can get some help bout this . i have 85 gt vert and top is torn bad but i know kid has a top and and frame and everything still together and he is trying to sell it to me . but here is question that whole kit he has is off a 90 gt vert . will that fit my 85 he said there are all same but he could be saying that to jus try to sell it i dont know . well hope you guys can help me with this thanks.....

i believe there is a slit change in the frame in 1990because of the addition of speakers in the rear panels, other wise from 89 and down everything is exactly the same, but check part numbers of the years to be safe

You might want to check out the convertible section just for a bit more specialized topic like this, but it isn't because of adding speakers as I have the ones you are refering to in my 89. Online sites sell 90-93 kits and kits for older cars. To my knowledge it is not an exact fit. whether or not you could make it work is another question, especially since you are getting the frame as well.

I would agree with VT - I don't think the fit is going to be the same. That said, as long as your vert frame is ok, just getting the cover from 5.0Resto should be very inexpensive - you would also have the flexibility of choosing a different color if you want to.

The 90 - up frame was redesigned to allow the top to sit lower when put down. As far as I know you can swap out the top as long as you are going to use the newer frame with the top.
