Default fuel sending unit

On my 88 coupe the gas gauge reads full all the time until it gets to 1/4 tank then it starts to read right-- do you think its the sending unit? If so is it located on the float or the pump?

different spot. the pump is located all the way to the passenger side of the tank, the sending unit is right in the middle.

I just replaced mine the other day, it wasnt a big deal. I also replaced the pump while I was down there with a 190. The sending unit fixed my gas gauge problem, but it doesnt work for all of them

Hey Prime, How hard was it to take out the sending unit and the pump? I have to do mine soon, It is not readingfrom 3/4 down, just sit in 3/4. Should I change the fuel pump too ? Is it hard to change it ?
Thanks for the info.
