Default fixed temp issue of 160

and the problem was my brand new tstat, went with a good old stant 195 and it worked great, I still need a new fan, but my new question is should I disconnect the battery and reset the codes and the ect and see if the code will go away now.

I could not figure it out for some time since I had already replaced the tstat. Thankfully everyone here helped me out.

Who said brand new parts are fail-proof......glad you got it fixed. Disconnect the battery for 5-8 minutes, start engine, let it reach op temp, and rerun the self-tests.....as a verification check.

cool joel, I thought that was what I needed to do. I will see what happens, maybe she will run better since she can operate at a normal temp.

are the Mr. Gasket ones good? I want to buy a new one. Is the 180° one the best bet or should i just stick with a 195?
