Default injector size question

have a 94 gt i just got. Well it has 24 # injectors on it with the stock computer i do beleive. The car runs fine setup the way it is right now. But im getting ready to install a tfs stage 1 cam and was curious if this would throw anything off because im not certain but i thought something was needed in order for the car to run right with the 24's or maybe it already has it i have no idea. My question basically is think my car will run fine after install if it runs fine now?h

I believe what you are thinking of is that you need a mass air meter calibrated for 24# injectors.

To run the 24# injectors, you either have to get a MAF calibrated to them, or you have to reprogram the tables in your computer. Chances are, someone already did that if you're not running rich or having any problems?

Are you 100% positive that you have 24# injectors? Any chance someone swapped ina cobra computer?

Just as a heads up, I'm fairly certain that once you install that camshaft, you're going to need to get a tune anyway. That cam isn't computer friendly and the 94 computer will choke on it. So there's a good chance that it will not run very well with the new cam, but it won't have anything to do with your injectors. And while they're tuning that, they can fix whatever injector issue you may have, so it's kinda pointless to worry about the injector size when you will need to get a tune anyway.

That chip may have had some important stuff on it. Especially if they calibrated your computer to run with 24# injectors. But that's something you can always have reburht at a later date when you make the changes you are talking about.

But yeah, expect it to run rough without a tune. I don't think the trickflow cam is compuer friendly (although I could be wrong.) If that is the case, then you may have a very crappy idle and very little vacuum if it even runs at all. Most computer friendly camshafts tend to have slightly wider lobe separationangle / lowoverlap for better vacuum at idle. And that's something that the SN95 computers need.

When you do get it tuned, just make sure to let them know about the njectors and they can tune it accordingly. Also, give them the chip to read and see what the previous owner may have done to it.
