RIM AND TIRE HELP PLEASE
ok well i have a 93 notchback (coupe) just did the lowering springs about 2" inch drop and upper and lower rear control arms with new struts and shocks, and i took out the old motor and put a 393 in it, anyway, I need new rims and tires, i have the turbine wheels and cracking tires, i want some 17"x9" cobra R's all around but concerned that the tires will rub in the front when you turn the wheels, anyone have a lowered foxbody with 17"x9" in the front and what size tire are you using

RE: RIM AND TIRE HELP PLEASE
i was trying to keep all the rims and tires same size, all i'm concerned is i dont want the tire to rub the frame when i turn, i can cut the splash guards out not worried about that, so you don't think a 17"x9" would fit in the front?

RE: RIM AND TIRE HELP PLEASE
I have 17 x 9 Cobra R's all the way around 245/45 Frint and 255/40 Back. 5 lug conversion all the way around as well. The tire Rubs a bit just when you turn the wheel all the way and very very rare to rub on the Fender...just a big bump

RE: RIM AND TIRE HELP PLEASE
Here's my 87 that i had with a five lug swap, with the eibach springs... Rubbed some... Mostly when i was running wide open and slammed on the brakes hard... I ran 245/45's on the front and 275/40's on the back.. The front was the only issue...

RE: RIM AND TIRE HELP PLEASE
ok, so was the tire rubbing on the inner fenderon hard braking? something that could be fixed by slightly flaring the front fenders maybe?should i run a 245/40 17 i want to keep all four tires the same

RE: RIM AND TIRE HELP PLEASE
IMO I wouldnt worry about keeping all four tires and wheels the same. To get the near perfect fit and look its just not going to happen on a fox. 17x8 on the front with 245/40s is going to be your best bet since you lowered it. And the 9s out back with 275/40s with fit perfect. You can do it right the first time or learn the hard way as I did.

ask him if he will let u mount htem on you car so u see if they rub... but i would take Pros word his rite pretty much all the time... im sure with a lil work u could get htem in there not problem... but what work would be needed is unknown... if it were a sn-95 id say go for it... but foxes have less room up front
