I have the T/F track heat w/1" spacer, and had to grind down two spots on the hood braces.

my buddy eric has a 89gt ////.....stock, besides intake spacer and exhaust....and cold air intake......

from everytime u close the hood, and everytime u floor it and the engine torques, it leaves a dent, the heat cycle weakens the paint/dent spot....and now he has a rust spot on his hood.

of corse a 1/2" spacer would not cause this...but the 1" will....and it did

An 87 will have to have some braces taken out. Its not hard I did it on my 88, just take off the hood and dremmel it off if you have to. My car doesn't have a rust spot but my car runs pretty cool and the upper intake doesn't get hot bad at all.

if your talking to me...you must be crazy...my yard looks like a ford dealership for all the trouble for a spacer is just crazy. me I used a 3/4" one with my gt-40 and all I have to do was remove the under hood pad....the spacer realy only help on the strip not in everyday driving ...you would be better off using a cool can with some coils running thru it from the ac condenser
