is it true that if a car is at least 20 years old that you dont have to worry about emissions laws, i was wondering because in the future i am planing on putting exhaust systems and removing some stuff that is required in order to pass inspection.

It varies state to state. In my state, we have no emissions laws for anything. It makes for some pretty radical "street" cars.

well in CA its 30 years, and they just vetoed the law and now saying any car 1976 and earlier doesnt need to smog, but the 30 year roll on law has no effect now, sux for all the muscle cars in the late 70's, people thinking they can wait a few more years and start running straight pipes, can kiss that dream goodbye,well thank you arnold

Just make friends with the people that will be inspecting the car. That's what I do and I never have to worry about whether my car passes or not. Or you can do what the PO of my car did and just slip the guy a $50 or something for a blank sticker.
