Default timing question

So I tried to pull allitle power out of my girlfriends 94 gt buy advancing the timing from 9 to about 15. It seemed to do absolutly nothing? The car is mostly stock besides a cai and cat-back. Would 93 octane help with the advance? Just can't think of why it wouldn't help at all.

The higher octane wont give you more power, it just burns at a higher tepm to help with detonation from bumping the timing. Did you advance the timing with the spout out?

well the 94-95 are heavy turds and would required a few more ponies to give you a seat of the pant feel

you really have to compare at the track, i don't believe you can even feel 15 hp gain, and timing wouldn't give that. but thats my opinion

higher octane will hurt performance if you don't need it

15* w/ 87 octane is danger close to sparkknock

might have bumped too much, and now getting detonation, you don't always hear it, if you wanna powertime it, do it at the track , bump 2* at a time and make a run, keep where the mph is most don't look at ET. check the plugs for being lean

My friend has a 94, and he has issues all the time with the computer not liking the changes he made. They are very finiky(spelling).
