Make sure you unscrew the main bolt before you use the puller...

My buddy almost broke the tool I rented yanking on a balancer that was still bolted on!?!?!

Jackass
I almost did the same thing then I stopped and read a manual but the lip of that bolt is dent on my car so im going to have to hammer the socket on. but hten I still have the problem with those pulley bolts being to short. I mean even if I had the stock pulley and bolts they would be short.

I got those bolts from Ace so I can use the Professional Products Dampe, but now a new problem. I really need help. I took of the hamonic damper retaining bolt and the damn thing still doesnt want to come off. So far it has snapped 2 of the bolts that came with the damper puller I rented. Its on there good. I've been working on this for about 2 hours. No luck. Any suggestions would be helpful.[:@]

If youv'e got some extra dough, buy the puller. You can use for all sorts of things, like the steering wheel. Also that damn bolt that holds the pulley to the balancer was so freaking tight. I had to use a 3/8 socket wrench and and both arms to pull the m fer and when it finnally came loose it sent me flying.

What is the best way to embed an image? My last is an attachment, which was not my objective.

I always attach the image. I did rent a puller and like I said before it has snapped2 bolts so far. I'm going to check my Chilton Manual. The only thing I can think of is to heat it up alittle. Its on there really hard. The rubber seal is coming apart be fore the puller will come out.

Adder I seriously dont know what im doing wrong. I took the fan out, removed the belt, removed the four damper pulley bolts, removed the pulley. removed the center harmonic damper retaining bolt and washer, and have tried for hours to remove the damn damper. I've been at it for a total 3 1/2 hours. I dont know. the rubber bond is moving more than the damper. Any help anyone.[:@]
