Default NEED HELP WITH DECISIONS!

My name is Justin and I have already begun my 94 mustang gt vert project.

MY GOAL=500rwhp+...
I need help deciding on a few things:
vortech(w/ aftercooler)s/c or procharger(intercooled)??? WHY?? How much boost are they capable of handling?? how much boost will I need to reach my goal??
WHICH tranny?? t56 or tko600??

ok here is my setup... still need to order some of these parts
r302 aluminum block
scat 331 stroker kit
tfs twisted wedge heads, tfs mani
custom grind cam
built rearend(31 spline, moser axles, spool, housing, alum. driveshaft)
complete fuel system(fuel rails, injectors, pump)
complete msd ignition system(wires, box, dist, ect)
oil and trans cooler, alum radiator, electric water pump, 180* thermo
belstein shocks/struts

the car is going to be built my Houston Performance and they will dyno tune it with a custom chip after everything is complete

I was going to buy an HP turbo kit, but after reading all the reviews and how long people wait for them I changed my mind.

You should be able to get 500 rear wheel horse out of that set up with 10lbs of boost from a Vortech or a Procharger if you have Methanol Injection and a good tune...

or you would probably need 12-14 pounds of boost with an intercooler...

Porting those heads will result in some great numbers too...

Why not just do it the easy way and buy this engine here? It's $5,900 and is 500 HP / 510 TQ naturally aspirated. Then build up your fuel system, suspension, rear end, etc from there. Personally, I'd rather do that than to start from scratch and try to mix and match parts.

Of you can buy their 347 stroker for $3,700. That's 400 HP / 400 TQ. Then just drop a blower on top of that and you're good to go. (With all the supporting mods, of course.)

But sticking to your original post.. I know that the procharger can take at least 20 PSI of boost, which is more than enough for what you're looking to do. But it seems like you have already decided on most of the parts anyway. It's not going to be cheap by any means, but it looks like you have a decent grasp of the situation and understand all of the supporting mods that are nevessary to reach numbers like that.

How much boost can the vortech's go to???

What tranny should I get for my application??

I really had my mind set on these parts. My car is currently getting the rearend built right now. This car is a DD and I dont want a HUGE stroker cammin motor that gets horrible gas mileage. I want something that gets decent gasmileage when I stay out of boost and isnt too responsive with the pedal.

I love boosted cars and in the future if I get bored of 500rwhp I want to be able to just turn up the boost

What I mean by responsive is if you bearly tap the gas and the car leaps forward. My friend 393 stroker notch c4 is real touchy and I would hate driving his car as a daily driver even though it is fast as ****(10sec)... maybe that is because it is a 3 spd w/ a 3000rpm stall???

haha.. yes.. I want it sorta fuel efficient(18mpg+)... that is with me not getting on it... of course I know as soon as I open her up the gas will be gone pretty fast, but I really dont care about that since I only race on weekends. Just dont want it being a 10mpg gas hog without me even getting on it, which is why I lean towards centrifugal superchargers or a turbo(out of the question because I am impatient)..

Where can I get a vortech s/c that can boost up to 20psi??? I should have all the supporting mods if I wanted to turn it up high so I want a supercharger than can cover my needs in the future.
