Have you tried a rubber reusable gasket?

i think the rubber reusable metal lined ones are better. but dont ya think that you may be over tightening em could be causing a leak by warping the valve cover? thats my thoughts on the subject

Exactly what i was going to say. Overtighting the valve covers can and will cause leaks. Especially with cork gaskets. That's why they tell you how much to torque the covers. It's not just a random number.

If I had to guess, your leaking near where a bolt actually holds it in place. Either that or near an edge towards the firewall.

this may be stupid becasue i dont have a inch pound torque wrench but there are twelve inches in a foot so would 106 in lbs divided by 12 is goin to be between 8 and 9 ft lbs, but i aint real sure thats how it converts so if im wrong hust discard this post
