I think the jamnut is 15/16's. Anyway, go to sears buy a handheld propane torch and heat the jam nut. Itll come off like butter.

yah you gotta move that nut. it should be 22MM. once it's loose from the tie rod end, the end should just spin off. sometimes they are tight enough to need air tools, but you can work around that. on the steering shaft, you will notice that it is hex shaped. i believe its a 13MM wrench that fits on it. stick a wrench on the shaft, and using another large box ended wrench, place the box end over the threaded shaft on the tie rod end, and use the wrench to turn it off, while the 13MM is holding the shaft.

i was referring to the inner tie rod. behind that nut, after the threads, it should be hex shaped or squared off at one point. there is where the 13MM goes.

the one connected to the spindle is the outer tie rod. the shaft that it screws onto is the inner tie rod. that inner tie rod shaft should have a square or hexed part on it, so you can hold it still.

I have to say the 5 lug swap is taking much longer than I expected. I only get so far before another problems comes up. Oh well the last one for the front is the tire rods and centering the rack. Just dont know how to get the damn things off.

use the boxed end of a large wrench, put it over the threaded shaft on the outer tie rod, and use the wrench to turn it.

Thats the thing when I try and turn it the rack still turns with the tire rod. So what your saying is take the boxed end of a wrench and place it over the actual tire rod itself. Find something to hold the line still and turn the rod? Will heating it up help?
