Default whinny gears

when i first got my car there wan no noise at all but ovber the past few months 1st through third gears make a really whinning noise when accelerating...tranny fluid leaks out the tranny where the drive shaft goes in which is really bad i know but i keep an eye on it and refillit it regularly...whats the problem?

most T5's whine a bit from their age. My trans whines in 3rd, 4th, and 5th, under VERY slight acceleration. it goes away if i back off, or give it more gas.

most of the time, its normal. once you start whining every gear, all the time, your trans is about to go.

might be a good idea 2 replace that rear seal so ur tranny fluid won't leak all the way out and then u really will burn ur tranny up

cake. unbolt the driveshaft from the rear end, slide the shaft out of the trans, pop the seal out, pop the new seal in, insert driveshaft and rebolt to the rear.

make sure you mark the position that the driveshaft was in, to keep vibration at a minimum, you gotta put it back in the same spot.
