Default Starter motor problems

Ok, my car (see sig) ran fine for the time that I have had it (almost 3 moths), but lately there have been some weird starter motor problems. It never used to do this until 3-4 weeks ago. The car starts up like it always has when its cold (no change in temp is seen on the temp gague), but when its warm, the motor sounds like its slipping and pushing really hard to get the car to start (going up and down from 150-400rpm). I'm at a loss for what it could be. The only thing I can think of is maybe when the engine is warm, the metal expands enough so the starter motor is actually slipping, but I imagine that the expansion would be soooooo small that it wouldn't matter.

I didn't do anything to the engine before or after this started acting up (besides maintenance il, coolant...), so I'm needing help with this one.

Oh, and when you say check this or that, try to explain where it is, I am new to my 302.

Sounds like some heat soak or something.

The weather has no effect on the starter
( unless your running straight 50w oil and has sat for 10 years )

How many miles are on the starter approx?????????????

My 92 has finally went after 130k

yes the weather has alot to do with its function.... i work on jap cars all day long, and when a starter is bad, it wont start for the first few tries on the first try of the day, but then from there on it will work every time.... when the metal is warm it expands and makes enough contact to work (usualy) but in your case just pull the starter out and get some new brushes.... im going to pull mine out and just mess with it to get another year out of it, its really easy.... just make sure everything contacts good

Show me a link about starter and weather...
You need to go back to school
heres five causes

Low battery voltage (discharged or defective battery)
Binding of starter armature (the result of worn bushings)
Oil is too thick for weather conditions (viscosity is too high)
Shorted or grounded starter windings or cables
Tight or seized engine

I'll try to take it out and check it out, but I wasn't making mention to heat from the weather, just heat in the engine.

In short, motor starts right up when its cold, but when the engine is warm, it makes the nasty sounds.

But yeah, I'll see if I can check it.

Oh and I don't know how many miles are on it, the car supposedly has 57k on it, but it really seems like more, but not like 157k.
