Default Gears.... no not that question.

I have a 94 manual and I was wondering what kind of gears I should get. SYKE.

I just got some 3.73s and from what I've heard, you have to get some type of adaptor for your speedometer to work correctly? Is this correct? If so what is it called and where can I find it. Oh and is royal purple worth it for the gears? Thanks

Randy

I think the closest you can get is the white 23 tooth gear, 8 tooth drive.

Does 'closest' mean that my speedo will still be off a little?

yep, if you notice the gear is the same for 3.55s, 3.73s and 4.10s, it only perfectly calibrates for the 3.55s. I think if you change the gear drive you can get it more accurate but i didnt have to mess with that.

Swap out to a 6 tooth drive gear in the transmission, and an 18 tooth driven gear on the speed sensor

OnyxCobra is right on the dime. I'm running the white 23 with 3.73. Royal Purple is also a good gear lube, you do not need to use a friction modifier with it.

throw away the 23 tooth gear.. your speedo is still incorrect... get a 6t drive and 18 tooth driven

your racking up extra miles on your car that dont need to be there, and wouldnt be there is you had the right speedo cal setup
