Default 180 degree t-stat differences.

Did anyone notice any differences in their motors after putting the 180 degree t-stat in? How much cooler does it keep your motor compared to the 195? Any power differences (I assume not)?

Wow, well I look forward to isntalling it then. I picked up a Stant 180 degree T-stat before I came home today from my work. I've got the water neck off, I just need to eat dinner and put it back in.

make sure you rtv the water neck side of the gasket with the t-stat sitting between let it dry. so when you put it back in you dont have to fight with the t-stat to sit right. then after its on and tight let it sit for another 30 minutes and then top off the coolant run it with no cap on the radiator and you will be good to go. it took me 4 tries before i got it on right so it wasnt leaking coolant. stupid pos

I too grabbed a Stant 180 degree, that's all that we sell at work is the Stants. I got it installed in about 20 minutes, no difference really that I could tell on these dirt roads except for the motor running quite a bit cooler. Hope it doesn't make my car run like crap when I can finallytest it outon the black top.

i had a problem with mine sealing. so what i did was took the water neck and put the rtv on it then put the t-stat in the groov where its supposed to sit then put the gasket on it and let it sit for about 15 minutes so it would dry enough to the point that the t-stat wouldnt drop while trying to bold it back to the manifold. once it was on the manifold and i let it sit for another 30 minutes before adding coolant and starting it up
