Default Is there a way to see if your car is running lean?

I pulled the codes and there are none, if i sit at an idle when i give it gas and let off the exhaust will sound different than normal sometimes. but the reason i was thinking it might be running lean is i got it emissioned today and the readings were- hydrocarbons loaded reading is only 4 when you are allowed 220. and 1 at an idle. and the carbon monoxide is 0 when u r allowed 1.2 at an idle and the load test. Am i wrong about thinking it is lean because of the exetremely low emissions? wouoldn't they be really high if it ran rich?

Take it to a Dyno and have them put in the sniffer.

None as in code 11 KOEO OD, KOEO CM and KOER?........HC = 4 reading = the engine is efficiently burning all the fuel it gets thrown into the cylinders + the cat-cons are doing their job.....same goes for CO = 0 reading.......btw, what was the CO2 reading from the test?

If you do anything to raise the fuel in the A/F mixture, the system will readjust itself until the current A/F levels are obtained = you would have to modify the ECM logic to raise A/F.....and not cause any driveability problems......just a thought.

you should be running fine, usually high hydrocarbons means incomplete combustion or cats on there way out, but if your running lean, usually your nox levels will be high because of the higher combustion temps of a lean running engine

you would be surprised how much leeway the emissions test gives you, i just passed by the skin of my teethw/ a b cam and no smog pump, if i run the car in my garage for more than 30 seconds my eyes are full of water.

ya it was 111 koeo and koer. the CO readings were 0 at idle and the load test. thanks for the info i was just suprised by how low the readings were and thought something might be wrong.
