I don't think so, if anything it will distort the turndown not the muffler. They don't have to be really tight just to hold on a little turndown. I worse comes to worse you just attach your tail pipes the same way.

the muffler will be fine, its made of a thicker metal than the turndown is, ive taken a piece off my muffler before after clamping it, i mean it was a bitch to get off, i had 2 use a torch and heat it up but the outles was fine, just hand tighten it and dont use an impact
