its like a soft clunk noise. sounds like the rear end or tranny . it does it when i let off the gas and then hit the gas after the car slows down. its like a "lunk" sound.

i bet thats what it is! since theres 2 of them i need to figure out if and what one is bad. yeah it really doesnt do it letting the clutch out now that i think about it. i was playn around in like 3rd gear letting it slow way down then hitting the gas over and over and thats when i hear it the most

at the back on the driveshaft where it meets the rear end.

yeah and theres another one at the front of the u-joint where it hooks up with the trans i would know i greased it the other day while it was on the lift

am i looking for slop in it? how do i check it. ive replaced them before, but i dont know how to tell if they are bad or not

i couldnt tell you thats one thing i never really picked up i know ball joints tie rods and wheel bearings but not u-joints

just have someone lay next to the car and recreate the noise for them. they will easily be able to tell if its front or back.

most of the time, its the rear.

replace them both anyway they are not expensive.. i had to do that on my truck... the drive shaft fell off while i was driving across the steet haha
