no there is no 302 clevland or windsor the only thing like that is a 302 with clevland heads which is what most normal people know as the 302 boss I REPEAT there is no such thing as a 302w or 302c the 302 boss is a very rare motor[sm=closed.gif]

Which will not be found in an old pickup...the easy way to id is to look at the valve covers. Boss has 8 screws vs 6 for the plain jane 302...and are a lot bigger!

the main difference I know of is the 5.0 is a roller cam block while the 302 is not set up initially for a roller cam and lifters but it can be retrofitted with them if you choose to do so. the older 302 use a 28 oz. balancer which makes the crank a bit stronger too while the 5.0 uses a 50 oz. one. over the years, Ford has made truck blocks, marine application blocks, racing blocks, etc. and there are differences in all of them as far as the cast iron used to make them, the water jackets, number of cap bolts on the main bearings, etc. rumor has it the mexican blocks used more nickel in the cast iron and were the strongest blocks they made at one time.
