Default Coolant issues???

Irecently put a vortech sq s-trim on my car and at the dyno my water pump started to leak, so i went home changed the water pump and resealed my lower intake and also bypassed the heater core because it was leaking...i bleed the system and went for a test drive right when i hit boost coolant filled the over flow bottleand started to spill all over the engine.. so i changed the cap and refilled the tank thinking that it was the cap.. So i just got back from a drive and didnt give it any boost and their was alot of pressure on the hoses and about a 1/4 of an inch of coolant in the overflow resivor.. Do you think its air in the lines? i let i set over night to let it cool off..

sounds like you got air in it to me. let it idle with the rad cap off untill the t-stat opens then fill the rad again and put the cap on. squeeze the lower and upper rad hose's untill you see coolent sloshing into your overflow tank. fill the over flow to the full line and you should be good to go.

i have a 3 core radiator and the overflow doesn't go back into the radiator. i let i set over night and i will refill it this morning, and get the temp up to 180, and let it cool all day.. it just sucks because i cant have fun with the new boost machine!! Its like its putting to much pressure in the system under boost...

Just something to check and its not what your going to want to hear but I have a 95 gt with a kenne bell and I blew the head gasket but it was leaking exhaust into the coolent passage which was over pressuring the system, I replaced the head gaskets with some good copper gaskets and the problem was solved. Good luck
