cars sittin on the sid e of the road w/o oil pressure came to a stop and the lifters were chattering looked at the gauge and no oil pressure the factory temp gauge was a little high but still in the op range any suggestions possibly distributor broken i really don't know a lot about fords usually just drive em
if the car was still running, its not the distributor. either a wicked blockage in your filtration system, or a broken shaft or pump, or clogged pickup tube. take the plug wire off of the coil, move it far away, and unscrew the oil filter a little bit. have someone hit the key for a couple seconds. if the pump and tube is still good, it will push oil past the seal, if loose enough.
yah it does, but if the distributor broke, it wouldn't run. its all 1 shaft. the pump driveshaft has a better chance of twisting than the distributor shaft breaking.
