Just installed new MAF, having problems.

Just installed new MAF, having problems.
ok i just installed a new 73mm C&L MAF and the car misfires when idle. Does anyone know how to diagnose this? Fuel pressure is normal and I also took the fenderwell elbow off the intake and just clamped the filter straight to the MAF for better flow.
It is misfiring!!! Help!!
I forgot to mention that the C/L unit i bought was from jdsperformance.com and that IT IS JUST THE 73MM TUBE. the instructions say to unbolt the stock black harness thingy and bolt it onto the new tube. find this kinda fishy because shouldnt i have a new sensor of some kind to go with the maf?

RE: Just installed new MAF, having problems.
ok i installed the stock MAF and the car runs ok now. So its the maf acting sh-tty.
interestingly enough i just remembered what MD told me when i asked if it was ok to bore out the stock maf. he said that the stock maf is programmed in a way that it only reads air flow according the diameter that the computer has in its brain. if you change the diameter than it will screw with the computers calculations. essentially what i did when i bolted on the stock harness was 'bore' out the stock unit. i suspect that my unit should come with another black harness that is calibrated for this.

in a way your right, but the c&l has a calibration tube that takes into acount the larger maf housing. that little tube in side the maf is what calibrates it to the size injector. i believe the 19# tube is yellow. at least mine was in my 76mm c&l. i changed tubes and run 24#ers now.
id say, put it back in, be sure there is no leaks so the engine cant draw air in from behind the maf and unplug the battery for about 15minutes. its supposed to be a bolt in part that requires no tuning.
also make sure there is no carbon on the sensor wires.
did you forget to hook the maf back up to the harness?

lol dude sign on AIM so we can talk over this....
btw, the car was running like ****. i bolted the harness on the new maf just like the instructions said so, i didnt see any air leaks so i dunno...
