How much will the stock 8.8 rearend hold before you need to beef it up?? What consists of making it stronger? Would the 9 inch be an option?

dont bother with a 9 inch.. an 8.8 can be made plenty strong..

31 spline axles, auburn differential, c-clip emilinators... its easy, but not cheap if done right

a 8.8 stock form will hold well into 500hp, with 31 spline axles and a auburn diff.... your look at well into the 700hp range. A guy I know has a 87 mustang hatch with a turbo 331 that runs 7.95@175mphhe uses a STOCK 8.8 rearend
