I have a 93 GT with a t-5. Anyway the reverse gear in the t-5 is starting to go so I'm looking for a new one. Some guy told me that a tranny from an old RX7 would bolt up and work just as good as the T5. I told him he's full of it. Is this guy just stupid or am I?

LOL...umm.no. More like rx-7 = miata bolt pattern. While Mazda and Ford are still under teh same umbrella, only similar size engines may share some similarities in components. I.E. duratec 4 and 6cyl engines.

The guy is probably thinking of a rotary to V8 conversion that is done to some older RX-7's where the 302 bell housing is preferred because of ease of installation.

Seems like it'd be easier to find a Mustang tranny anyway.
