I have heard about guys stickin' v8s in 4 cyl mustang bodys and getting away with the insurance cost that way... that cant be legal can it? Or were they full of crap?

As far as being legal, if you get caught,just tell them that you just completed the conversion.

i was considering it when i was car shopping. i think its worth it depending on how much your insurance would be normally. for a teenage boy id definatly say itd save you some money. the only problem is if you total your car, insurance will only pay as much as the four cylinder was worth, which sucks when some SUV runs into your perfect condition stang.

my car now is a conversion. I have less into it then 2 yrs ins on a V-8 but I have ALOT of speeding tickets. Ins quit asking motor size long ago thay just take you VIN number and go from there. I even made the mistake of telling them and thay told me " thay have to go by the VIN" I wasnt going to disagree with them.

It's even considered insurance fraud.
If you wreck the car and you make a claim and your adjuster pops the hood and finds out it's not the stock 4 banger, you're going to be dropped and you aren't going to see a penny. A lot of people have done it and gotten away with it scotch free, but is it worth the risk of something stupid happening and you get caught and left with no check to fix your car, or even the other car you slammed into [&:]
