engine question
No, you're not screwed i've put over 50,000 on a car after the first signs of oil on teh plugs showed up and the only reason I stopped driving it was the trans let go. At the same time watch your oil level and if you start fouling plugs really bad get a set of spark plug defoulers they help but they're only a cover up so the car will run. Depending on on many miles you have on your car it could be piston rings, valve seal, or a head gaset. Either way you'll have to tear the engine apart to really fix the problem. If you are using 5w 30 try 10w30 its thicker and will allow less blow by. Adding lucas helps alot too.
A compression test will tell you how bad off you are. Get your readings and the add a couple of drops of oil into the cylinder and get your readings again. If the compression goes up you have ring problems. If it stays the same +- a couple of pounds you have head issues.Could be simple as bad valve seals.
