a stock 5.0 makes peak power at 4300, shifting at any rpm higher than 200-400 overpeak rpm will slow you down.
Stock 5.0 makes peak horsepower around 5,100-5,200.

mabey on the factory tach, put a stocker on the dyno and see. pull the silencer and they make peak power at 4900 rpm.
