Why would just getting up to 3000 rpmsbe difficult in my car. I've watched several videos where the car smoothly goes up to 4000 no problem, and mine is not wanting to go any higher than 3k. Is my stock tach not working properly, or is it the car. I've replaced cap, rotor, ignition coil, the spark plug wires are pretty new, and i gapped the spark plugs. Does it have to do with my carb not giving it enough fuel?

 

If the car still feels like it is reving and pulling past 3000 rpm and not falling on its face at 3000rpm then it is probably just the tach!

 

yeah, if your car couldnt blow past 3000rpm, you would definitely know it

 

dude..if you can't tell if the engine is rev's past 4k by ear you have me worried about your tach install as well

It will rev higher than 3k, but it sounds like you're beating the **** outa it. Your in car video is actually the one that got me wondering, because it sounds to be pretty smooth up to about 4k.

You don't have a tv cable, it is an automatic tranny deal, you have a 5 speed, I would run codes if I were you (koeo and koer) and see if something shows you what might be bad.
