You don't have a tv cable, it is an automatic tranny deal, you have a 5 speed, I would run codes if I were you (koeo and koer) and see if something shows you what might be bad.
So that's why i've never heard of it. And about running codes, i have a carburetor so i don't think I really need to do that (unless that's another thing i wasn't aware of, lol)

Oops I guess I have been around fi for so long. Check you fuel filter first. You may need an adjustment on your carb as well. Maybe something is not functioning correctly. It has been a while since I have messed with a carb to tell you where to look. Doesn't a carb car just have a mechanical fuel pump, not high pressure.

Possibly a clogged cat converter.

Yep. I've replaced the fuel filter also. I'm starting to have a feeling it's relating to my carb being lean, therefore it isn't getting enough fuel at higher rpms. It being lean would also cause the problems i'm having with it in the rain/humidity. It sucks though, because in '85, they made the carb so you have to take it off the manifold and drill out a few plugs to get to the a/f adjustment screws. I will probably have to do that this summer, but even once i drill them out, i'd have to take it off the manifold any time i'd want to twist a screw, making it virtually impossible to adjust it correctly.

what a pita design. save up for a better carb if that is the problem. that sucks, but at least it can be done.

Is your motor stock? If it is, the motors in these cars have really crappy heads, worse than the e7s. These heads reach their limit about 4.2k so around 3k we're quickly reaching their limits already, and thats why it sounds really rough. So if you really want to eliminate it, get some new heads, and while you're at it, since you don't like the carb/intake setup, get those too.

Tell me about it. I have other reasons to look at carbs other than that also (accelerator pump is going out).
