i thought you would have replaced the valve springs with a cam upgrade

since a .586" lift cam isnt really streetable....whats a streetable size lift that i canstill run like really low 12's? something around .500" ?

cause im tryin to figure if i want a race car...and no street driving(destroy the engine) or a street/strip car

and how much hp will i gain if i have the stock 351 and throw on AFR 185's ?????? b/c i will most likey buy heads first

i got a hydraulic roller...dont remember what u said urs was. its a comp xe270hr-14. im not sure if its for 351 though. its 1800 to 5800 basic operating range. .512 lift 218 intake and 224 exhaust duration. i have been told that its a real good cam from 2 people. something like that is very streetable. the cam i have is suppost to be comp. friendly...it will be tested to the max with my sn95!

i dont see why 30-50hp isnt out of reach. ive heard from afr's site or mm&ff (both have lots of articles) that they got 80hp from them. with heads and a cam it will be very nice.

ya i might get the spring upgrade since it can handle up to .500" with the original shyt springs........i may want to keep my car more streetable and use a smaller cam tho, im still deciding lol

do u think i can still see low 12's or high 11's with the edelbrock Vic jr. intake, afr 185's, and a .484" cam lift?

depends on suspension, hooking or not, and all the other factors. personaly i dont think so ( i dont kno a whole bunch about 351's although the are simular to a 302). maby high 12's. that cam is killing you out of the combo. that intake is made for high rpm's and im sure the stock cam is made for power down low.
