Where?

I got 6 quotes on machine work.

Quote 1 was 1450.00
Quote 2 was 1575.00
Quote 3 was 1900.00
Quote 4 was 1000.00 ( This is who did it.)
Quote 5 was 2250.00 and
Quote 6 was 1200.00

I am curious. I am thinking about builing a 351-417 stroker later on.

well i see why contsetant #4 got the contract. remember you get what you paid for. i'm just saying that you could have used e-bay and your own mechanical know how to assemble. thus affording better parts. Just seems like a stock rebuild when for 1500 you could get race prepped shortblock from just about everyone.

Where can you get a race prepped short block for $1500
What do you mean by race prepped
What pistons, rods, crank, etc.

dss, chp, etc etc. everyone has what you have but a little better for around 1500. these are all stock blocks though so "race" is a marketing ploy.

I know you won't be reusing those stock headers right? Congrats on your build.
