Default supercharger 5.0

Im new to the site and i looked and don't think I found an answer to a question I have so if I didn't see the answer sorry in advance. There is a 92 gt for sale by me and it has 45 k for miles says carfax and is pretty clean. My question is that its a stock 5.0 except for fuel mods for the additional air from the supercharger. I do not think that a stock block can handle the 350 hp that this is putting out. I want to find out before I buy it so I know for sure that the engine wont blow on me since it will be a dd. Could you guys fill me in? thanks!

A stock block can easily handle 350rwhp. The stock block can even handle 450rwhp. When you start getting near 500rwhp, then you have to worry.

stock block can handle 350 horse, when your pushing toward 500 horse you might need a dart or something else with 4 main and stronger

Just as an additional bit of info: On the supercharger I run 320rwhp. On the nitrous that is boosted to 430rwhp. This is on a 95 GT. That means stock bottom end... no forged internals, hyper pistons.

It's all in the tune.

yeah it will. u can get from the block about 500hp at the fly, but after that dont hold ur breath. the internals especially the pistons will not hold alot of boost. recommended max on stock internals and block is 8lbs. many feel alright with 10psi as long as the engine is in good shape. since its only got 45K it must have been rebuilt. and 350hp for stock engine and s/c sounds just about right!

the engine was never rebuilt, the car on the body actually has 45k unless carfax is wrong, its on a salvage title because it was stolen in like 1999 or something. I just wanted to make sure that it would make a good and fun dd thats reliable enough. The owner has had it for 2 weeks and is selling it and his speed bike to get rid of debt but he has reciepts for everything done to it and he said he got it tuned since he's owned it.

yeah thats true, but to a degree. ur not going to get 800rwhp from a stock 5.0 with 60lbs of boost from having a real good tune...the block will blow and so will the internals LOL (could have used a lower # but 800 sounded good lol)

if the motor is tuned properly you shouldnt have any issues with it. if the motor is stock it should have great street manors since it doesnt have much high hp aftermarket parts other then the sc.
