Default some more head questions

ok just to be sure when i get ready to do my head swap (gt-40 non -p) i wanna go to stud mounts. could someone quickly explain the diff between stud and pedistal mounts. and anything else i might wanna do for my head swap

You cant swap froma a pedistal to a stud mount.It is what it is.

You can have the heads machined for stud mount. As for what the difference is, stud mount means that there is a threaded stud that sticks out of the head that the rockers bolt to. Pedestal mount is also known as a bolt down fulcrum, meaning theres a bolt that holds down the rockers.

Yes sir, I did that to an old set of 351 heads I had. Had em machined for 3/8 studs.

how cheap is it to get it machined....like ballpark figure i just dont wanna call on it. i was told stud mount is better because you dont have to set a lash on the rocker....just make sure you bolt down the rockers at the correct amount load on the pushrodwith no other adjustments

is that all correct?
