Default exhaust

my 85 still has y pipe and cat on it and i fckn hate it . but my buddie is wanting to work out a deal with me he has a set flowmaster 40's and y pipe off a 2001 gt how hard would it be to make that y pipe fot on my 85 . could i jus cut flanges off my y pipe and wel on that h pipe so would bolt up to my headers ?

why a y pipe
get dual exhaust. get a bbk o/r h or x-pipe and a dubble hump crossmember

why a y pipe hell i dont know call ford and ask them lol . i jus havent had money yet to get new exhaust and my buddie has this sht laying behind his house and jus wonder if there is way to make it work .
