Buy a mustang with t tops and take em out when you go to the track!
Don't know about the track where you live but I belive they wouldn't let you run here with out the tops in. Convertibles have to run with the top up even!

Well for my self the heater and a/c stay in the power door locks , trunk release and gas door stay.... If I can't drive my DD in comfort I ain't driving it! I look at these ricers that they strip EVERYTHING out of and laugh. I'm not driving around in an empty rattling tin can. If it isn't fast enough in comfort then I need to build a better motor!

For a single purpose race car. I'd have no problems with the hole saw idea. Even the front control arms. They are presently strong enough for road racing and daily driving. For drag racing only. They could use a few strategic holes. Same for the frame in front of the front suspension.

The wheels, tires, brakes, axles and driveshaftwill pay back more in performance than static weight. Not only do you remove weight you also reduce the energy required to get those items up and rolling.
