Default grinding from 4th to 3rd

i just got a clutch installed so its not my clutch, it started grinding from 4th to 3rd when the clutch i had in before started slipping. Now i got this new clutch and it goes fine into 3rd from 2nd, but most of the time it will grind from 4th into 3rd. I'll play with it a little bit by keeping my foot in when im downshifting into 3rd and ill move it back and forth into the gears and it doesnt grind only when i first try to do it.

This sounds kind of confusing, sorry!

Sounds like it might be synchro's in the tranny. Does it grind any other time?

T5? the syncro blocking rings sound like they are worn or the syncro it self. I would bet on the blocking rings though after rebuilding my last one myself and seeing for how they go together. I would get a rebuild now before it damages more! or race it till it breaks! LOL is what i'm doing with mine. Been thru 4 T5's in the past 7 years may have to sit a while but the next trany going in mine will be a TKO.

how would that kit work out?

And to answer other questions, no it doesnt do it in any other gear only from 4th to 3rd.

if you down shift by putting it in neutral let the clutch out tap the gas to get the rpms up and push in the clutch then throw it into 3rd from 4th. it just gets the gears spinning at near the same speed so they dont grind. sounds like a lot to do but try it and it will get easier.

That looks like everything you would need. The cost to have somebody rebuild for you shouldn't be over $200 if you supply all the parts. Provided you R&I the trans by yourself. Those tranny's are cake to rebuild.
