Default exhaust mess up.. now what!

well they messed up my flowmaster super 40s order, anyways i was thinking i may go with something else. i know the topic of manga's to flows has ver and over.. but i have mine narrowed down to, flowmaster
-super 40s (sounds really good) but im not sure if they are that loud? not a whole lot of sound clips out there.
-normal flowmaster 40 series, any opinion?
-mac flowpaths (these are much cheaper, plus come in stainless and still cheaper than flows. and seem to be pretty loud?

i want something pretty loud but still sounding good without tooo much "popping or crackling"

im ordering 2 mufflers, headers and a offroad h next wednesday and i just cant decide.

also is there a huge difference in shorties to LTs in hp? i am thinking of some used longtubes on ebay for like up to 200? or should i go with some new shorties?

baaah the stress!

also forgot to add.. i bought 3" tips but took them back, i wanted chrome 3" tips but wanted it to look like the lx pipes do now, and i figured i couldnt make them look right. so i think ill just use the tailpipes from it now.. but i want 2.5" exhaust so where should the 2.5 change to 2.25 for the stock pipes.. around top of the axle?

Go with the long tubes, there is a considerable difference between numbers that it can produce over shorties.
Only reason to ever go shorties is if clearance is an issue, or emissions.
And seein that you're getting an offroad h pipe, I doubt emissions will be a problem.

As for mufflers, that's all you man.
Personally I love magnapacks, but if you want the sound of everystang on the planet.
Go flowmasters
Doesnt sound THAT bad right?

ever thought about going all 3"?
full 3 inch exhaust it pointless unless your making big power, and ob i will admit your car sounds ok at WOT but down low raspiness just isnt for me

yeah ive thought about all 3" because by summer i imagine ill have 350hp at least (flywheel)
but i dont know, and i have a 5spd and there are no emissions tests around here so should i worry about clearance? and there are only a couple stangs i ever see around so i dont have to worry about sounding the same. does anyone here run mac flowpaths? id like to try them but not sure..and if i do go flowmasters should i go 40 series, or super 40s?

well i put the super 40's on my 86 GT last summer, they were louder than the stock ones i had on, but im also still running with stock exhaust from the headers to the mufflers. Ive been thinking about throwing on an or H pipe this spring, but then i also was thinking about just putting some cut outs in there so i can have that true OPEN sound. With the setup your looking at i think the super 40's would sound mint.
