Speedo Correction?

Speedo Correction?
Hey. I just put some Ford Racing 3.73's in my stock 8.8 inch rear end about a month ago. I knew my speedo would be off and it is by about 30%. (When my speed says 100 Km's/H its really 70 Km's/H) I went to a few local shops and I'm pretty sure the parts only 40 bucks or so Canadian from Ford. I know there's obviously cheaper places to get this part so if you guys could maybe give me a link or something of that sort to find out where I could get this and more importantly how dificult it is to install? Thanks. (1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX, Standerd T5 Transmission)

There are no combinations of the 8t drive that will accurately correct for the 3.73's. you need to go with either a 7t or 6t drive gear

RE: Speedo Correction?
Its actually not as bad a job as many people think it is. There are 8-10 bolts holding the tailshaft housing onto the trans case. you must remove the shifter, punch out a roll pin, unbolt the driveshaft, drain the tranny fluid, unbolt the tranny crossmember, lower the back end of the trans down, support the tranny and unbolt the tailshaft housing... then it slides right off.. there is a clip holding the gear in place, slide the whole thing off, and install a new gear...
clean the tranny, apply some RTV silicone, and slap it all back together
