how to adjust clutch
i have some kind of after market firewall clutch adjuster that was on the car when i bought it, and i have no idea how to adjust it. my clutch is beginning to slip from time to time, and i did the thing where you lift up on the pedal. that seemed to correct the problem for a while, but today it started to slip again. if someone could tell me how to go about using the adjustment that would be great. it has two metal rings with a plastic piece on the end. thx.

RE: how to adjust clutch
the more you unscrew the adjuster the higher the pedal goes before the clutch starts to grab, if you screw it in all the way the clutch will grab as soon as you let the pedal out

just play with it. I adjusted mine the wrong way one time and it slipped bad, then I adjusted it back the other way and it was fine. Adjust it one way and go get to about 55 or 60 mph in 5th gear and while cruising put it to the floor to see if it slips. If it does, it needs to be adjusted the opposite way. If you adjust the adjuster the opposite way and it still slips, your clutch is probably worn out. Sorry I cant remember whch way is which when adjusting the firewall adjuster but I know from experience this will work. Just dont slip it much, as soon as you feel it sip, pull over asap and adjust it the other way. Good Luck!

floor the gas i believe is what he means cause it will be under somewhat of a load so if its too hard to overcome, the clutch is gonna be a weak point and just slip instead of grabbing.
