Default aeromotive a-1000 whats everyone else using

im about to add either a procharger F1 or D1SC or a HP 76mm turbo to my Dart based 347 and wanting to know who is using the A-1000 for street use and if you are are you using the aeromotive voltage regulator for it to make it last longer, please guys let me know what you are using, im piecing together my fuel system to handle round 800HP and needing some input, right now im going

new stock tank
sump kit to be welded in
a-1000
two -10 40 or 100 micron aeromotive filters
-10 fuel line everywhere
y block
PP 1/2" fuel rails
y block
aeromotive FPR back to my stock 3/8" pressure line to be used as my return line

gimme some input please,, wondering how long the a-1000 lasts without their voltage regulator????

I've been struggling with this myself.

My tuner really likes in-tank submerged pumps
since they stay cooler and dont heat up the fuel they
are pumping as much.

These are a serious pain in the butt to install for
our wanted hp level since it would require some serious
tank customizing.

The A-1000 controller helps with this by only making
the pump work as hard as it needes to for given engine load.

Personally I dont think its that big of a deal. There are tons
of people running A1000's with out problem

I wouldnt worry too much about pump life. Aeromotive makes good stuff.

My plan is A1000 with Grattelli pick-up that replaces stock pump
and then a 100micron filter before the pump to act as a rough screen to
catch bigger debris, and then a 10 micron paper filter after the pump
for finally fuel cleaning.

Going to run -8 feed and -6 return.
Do NOT use your stock return line. One thing that will burn out a
pump is too small a return line causing system back pressure.
Rule of thumb is to always use a return line that is one size
smaller than feed line
So if using -10 feed you would want a -8 return
or -8 feed with -6 return.

Barn,

are you going to use the controller or just run it and if it dies then replace it????

im going to go with the A-1000 Eliminator pump bout $420 or so to give me 200hp more flow if needed, think im going to go with the procharger F1 intercooled instead of the KB,, thought about the 76turbo and can get a great deal on it but just dont want to have to use a standalone and i want everything to be nice and easy for tuning,, (i hope) lookin for 650+ RWHP on my 347, im pretty sure i can get there prolly put my vert into the low 10s or high 9s

im in the same boat as you guys. probably going with the a1000. plan to run the cartech pickup so that i can run a wire screen inside the tank and save on AN fittings.....those f*ckers are expensive. i have a paper filter for after the pump. i will be doing -8 feed and -6 return. the a1000 is only rated at 730hp i believe so you will defenitely want the higher hp version.

yeah can get the a-1000 elimnator pump handles 900 for not much more or the full pro race for 1200 for like 600$,, damned fuel costs too much money, but who can complain once you get 600,700,800 hp in your hands,,

lucky arent you doing a 347 too or was it a 331??? what FI i forget

im going to stay with just 331. i plan to spin it to at least 7000rpms and the longer the stroke, the harder it is to get up into the high rpms. plus, i hate the rod angle on the 347. just puts too muchfriction on the outside of the cylinder walls imo. shouldnt have any problems putting 600 to the wheels with a twin turbo 331. going to get a boss block tho, too poor for a dart[:@]

I think people burn up pumps by running too small
of a return line. That was another thing my tuner warned me on.

I will just run it normal, but I think my AEM ecm could do
same thing as the Aeromtive controller too.

and boost is boost as far as the computer is concerned
I would not let tunabilty decide whether or not to go turbo or s/c
the computer has no idea how you're making boost.

You might want to consider an AEM or MegaSquirt stand alone
system eventually. My tuner says its like night and day on how
good of a tune you can do with those vs. doing SCT chips with factory EEC.
and they sell both AEM and SCT
