I wonder why nobody uses the RPM Performer heads? I do with the 185 runners and 2.02 valves, a Hurricane intake, Holly 750 DPand a Comp Cam at .558 lift, it's sounds way wicked just idling at 1200 rpm, turns heads every time! makes around 400 hp as a 306. I get the block back next week as a 347, wonder what it'll do now? If your going with a roller why no use the x303 or go all the way with a Z303, you'll wish you had after a couple months behind the wheel and used to the power and want more, start with MORE!!!

the edelbrock heads are very nice, but from the reports that come in from the battlefront the AFR's and trickflows outperform them. also look for canfield, brodix, and dart heads

Be smart and do it one timecall a cam desiger like Jay Allen or Ed Curtisand get a cam and head package in the long run you will save money and it willperform better. The differance in a custom cam an OTS cam is a customn cam is desigened to your heads, intake, exhaust, gear ratio and so on.A OTS cam is designed for everyones combo on the street regaurdless of heads and the other items listed above. An example would be if you put the same OTScam in everones motor but they all had differant heads and intakes you would see everbodyscar perform differantly.A custom cam in you car matched to yourcomponents youwill outperform all those cars an last longer.Ive been doing this for a long time been there and done that.

Thanks Matt

You have plenty of money to deal with one of those gentlemen.

My AFR 165 heads were $1400 and my FTI custom cam was $325 so thats within your budget but then you will need to buy gaskets, pushrods, rockers, head bolts, etc.
