Well guys I got a quick question for you....I drained my tranny oil and filled it up again with dexron 3 until it was just even with the filling hole....anyways my problem is that when the motor is cold and I shift from 1st to 2nd it would make a grinding noise. Clutch was down all the way and it did it. So I went and talked to a transmission guy that has done work for us before, he said I need to have 60% dexron 3 and 40% gear oil. I don't know if you guys have heard of this but that is what he said. He said it is my sincrose (sp) that is making that sound. He also asked me if I power shift because that would cause it to speed up the process. have you guys heard of this gear oil/tranny oil thing? please tell me what to do. Thanks

 

t5 trannies call for dexron3

yes the synchros are wearing thats why it grinds, i would not use gear oil , just the dex3

slower shifts will keep it from grinding too

it has only happend 2 times so far though so thats why im kinda wondering....I just got this car a month ago....damn ford...
